I must admit, seeing and helping perform dentals on animals puts me off going to the dentist even more. Once youve helped do a dental procedure on a horse, with the huge instruments they use, it makes you teeth hurt just thinking about it. Especially when theyre doing the filing....... *shudder*
So I want my spider tattoo. I kinda have the spider style sorted, and I want a web included, and stars spun into the web just cos I love stars :)
Im also remembering that I want a pretty angel/faerie tattoo - but I want her to have pretty feathered wings, rather than the gossamer-looking typical faerie wings.... There is a girl who does amazing anime/digital/not sure what to call it style art in Palmy - I own a couple of her prints (and you can view some of her work at Lockerby Design (Sophie Blokker is her name - I love the wings on Milo - so pretty). I think i want it on my back.
I also want a sleeve/leg type tattoo with an animal theme - but that needs more planning cos the animals I want all live on different continents and in completely different environments/habitats so I need to work out a way to link them all together.... (any ideas are greatly appreciated :) - the animals I have in mind are polar bear (of course), red panda, tiger, cheetah, wolf....)
I just want lots. I wish I could be covered in them. I look at pictures (like the one below of Kat Von D) and just wish I was going to work in an industry where I could do that.....
Ok thats enough for now. Should probably do some work

You have managed to choose a great cross section of animals, so here is a rather simplistic answer.
From top to bottom (or vice versa)
all snow - polar bear
becomes
patchy snow and scrub - wolf
becomes
grassland - cheetah
becomes
forest floor (or less dense forest) - tiger
becomes
canopy (or denser forest) - red panda
ie - the backgrounds will fade into one-another because each animal lives predominantly in adjacent geographical ranges (though often not on the same continent, but that doesn't matter in terms of the habitat characteristics).
I will see if I can find a picture, they make them with marine animals a lot and I am sure I have seen land animal ones...
As long as you work in an industry where you can wear what you like, you can have tattoos anywhere you can cover. Legs especially you can get completely tattood - its so easy to conceal them, and you will probably be wearing scrub pants all the time anyway.
You're a very clever girl. I knew I kept you around for a reason :)
The only problem is that I would want it going around my leg maybe, and then how do i blend the polar bear and the red panda?? Mind you they live in Nepal so theyre bound to have a little snow.... hmmmm
Yeah I figure my leg wont matter - and this one I was thinking of right around my thigh.... I dunno. I'll figure it out :) Or my back :)
I love Emma's idea! I think it'd work best as a back piece, so you can really get all the detail of their environments in there, and not have the blending from one to the next be too jarring. :)
Also, I love Sophie Blokker's art. Especially "Milo Wounded" - I'm such a sucker for wounded men...
my only problem with back pieces is being worried that it will look weird if/when i wear a wedding dress haha. so silly
yeah i might get my faerie/angel on my leg - that way it can be on the outside and i dont have to show my gross inner thigh to anyone haha
Oh and Hayley - have you seen her art before?? Cos I believe she goes around the lower north island showing it off.... so pretty. I have Milo wounded on my wall :)
LOL, one of the reasons I want a back piece is for how it will look when I wear a dress with a low back!
Her art does look familiar, but I don't remember having seen it in person...
Are you serious??? You have Milo wounded??? I am SO jealous. I'm thinking about getting an A3 print of it.
Yeah Im happy for it to be on show in general. Just not wedding dress. But then I guess you dont really have photos taken of the back..... Its so far away for me that I dont even know why Im worrying haha
Yeah I totally do have Milo. Loves it :) Just an A4
Ok no I lied. I have Milo with the blue wing - not wounded after all :) But I have Milo and he is pretty :)
I was thinking if you went bottom to top; vertically you know?...
So had the polar bear above your knee, and the red panda below your hip, and the environments going all the way round as the cuff?
and you could have the animals staggered if you wanted, or, you know, a mother and cub polar bear above your knee. red panda on your hip. wolf on your inner leg. tiger on the back of your thigh.
Or you could multiple animals in each environment ranging around your thigh.
Or on your calf, or whereever.
Oh yeah that also makes sense. Arghh. Though i do admit, I do hate my thighs........ lol
Its ok - it will be a while before I get it so got time to think and plan :)
well, if you hate your thighs, cover them in body art so that then all you see is art, not thighs :D
I think your thighs are great, but then, I love you so I might have a bias.
well that is true - to both :)
